Gravel teams are now A Thing, and LOOK has thrown its bucket and spade into the sandpit with a new gravel team and a press release. As we opened our inboxes, there were universal squawks of ‘Oh my god this is terrible!’, so we thought we’d share the delight with you.
LOOK announces new gravel racing team – TEAM LOOK GRAVEL
The all-new four-rider team will set out to tackle gravel cycling’s premier European events.
23 July 2021 – Nevers, France: Introducing TEAM LOOK GRAVEL, the new LOOK team ready to tackle the flagship events of the gravel racing calendar in France and throughout Europe.
The team will launch their gravel campaign at home in France, tackling events including the Roc d’Azur, La LOOK Gravel, Châtel Chablais Léman, and the challenging Race Across France. They will also compete at Sea Otter Gravel Grinder in Girona.
However, the four riders ultimately share one dream: they aim to ride UNBOUND Gravel, the most prestigious event on the American calendar, held over 200 gruelling miles of Kansas’ finest gravel and dirt trails.
The team consists of four ex-racing cyclists now looking to discover what is on offer in the world of gravel.
- AKA: The Partygoer
- Aged 29
- Team manager.
- AKA: The Doctor
- Aged 25
- A mechanical engineer with an appetite for adventure.
- AKA : The Gardener
- Aged 24
- Legend says that the road is never the same after he has ridden it.
- AKA: The Professor
- Aged 42
- When he’s not teaching as a professor of technology, he rides gravel to avoid the hazards of the road.
The team will tackle their events onboard the LOOK 765 GRAVEL RS, equipped with LOOK X-TRACK RACE CARBON pedals and CORIMA G30.5 wheels to ensure the ultimate in comfort and performance is achieved. This bike is designed and tested in France.
Design is as much at the heart of LOOK as performance. Drawing inspiration from dot art, the team’s kit symbolises the rocks, dust and rubble which the four team members will tackle. Through this design, the kit is able to blend into the natural environment, allowing each rider to become immersed in the spirit of gravel riding and the thrill of boundless adventure.
Hopefully that makes you feel a whole lot better about your next role play professional development workshop, or that Power Point slide you just created with the title ‘Looking Forward, Can We Think Out The Box?’, or that email you just sent inviting everyone to meet in the bean bag room for a thought bombing session. Although, you should probably feel a little ashamed of yourself too.
