Restrap refreshes bikepacking luggage range

by 0

Restrap was one of the first UK bikepacking luggage companies, and remains one of the few that manufactures everything in the UK – from its Leeds warehouse. The company was originally born when owner, Nathan Hughes, started to make and sell foot-retention straps made from recycled seatbelts.

Restrap’s saddle and bar bags use a holster design – handy for taking your luggage inside the tent/bothy/hotel for a night, without having to mess with straps.

The company quickly grew and it’s first bikepacking range was first launched at Interbike, Las Vegas, in 2015. Grouped under the distinctive #carryeverything hashtag, the range has become is now sold globally, and used by record breakers and weekenders alike.
Restrap also do a full range of accessory bags

New for 2019

Restrap has redeveloped its range of bikepacking products for the summer season, adding additional features, new materials and improved specification. The #carryeverything range includes bar, saddle, and frame bags, as well as additional pouches to carry food, technology and small items. All incorporate a unique magnetic system for easy attachment.

A larger bar bag is now available.

The newly revised range is largely a case of evolution rather than revolution, and now includes:

  • Improved materials including Hypalon
  • Laser-cut foam blocks to reduce movement on the bike and give better grip when riding rough terrain
  • A larger, 17L bar bag, introduced following customer demand.

The pouch at the front attaches via magnets.

Sales Director Ed Kingston says: “Restrap continue to innovate the way cycle luggage is made in-house. With 3D printing and laser cutting added to our production, we are setting the standard for practical and innovative products.”
And the holster can be run without it should have no snack carrying needs (when has that EVER happened?). Also, the bar bag now uses foam blocks to help fitting and the harness stay tight on the bars.

Restrap’s range will also feature some brand new products, to be unveiled at this year’s Eurobike Show in September.
