Lapierre today launches the Crosshill – a gravel bike – and the Cross Carbon – a cyclocross bike. Hannah was out at the press launch a couple weeks ago, so here’s a closer look at the Cross Carbon.
This one was not available for riding – it was being kept new and clean. And very very bright.
A specially shaped spot for your shoulder. Apparently it’s optimised for a certain type of carrying, with the middle of the top tube on the right shoulder at angle as used by most pro cyclocrossers.
Cables are routed along the top tube to help make carrying more comfortable.
It is Di2 ready, although it doesn’t come with it.
And it’s ready for caliper brakes, in case you want to go all retro.
While it comes with thru axles, it can also be adapted to QRs with 10mm skewers. It’s a shorter rear stay than the Crosshill gravel bike, although the overall wheelbase is similar.
Interestingly the front mech cable runs down the back of the seat tube – just where you’ll be collecting all that mud, grass and earthworms.
There we have it. Prices are still to be determined and we’ll let you know when we hear what they’ll be. We’ve put our name down for a test rig so watch this space.
