The AWOL is an up for anything dropbar bike from Specialized‘s adventure range. The different models share the same steel frame and fork and are spec’ed to suit a range of uses – be that commuting or getting out there in the hills. The AWOL Comp is a versatile looking bicycle with a definite monstercross vibe about it.

This is the top tier model with go-anywhere intentions. It’s a strong and stealthy looker with a simple build – SRAM Rival 1×11 drivetrain for go and Rival hyrdaulic disc brakes for stop. There’s generous volume rubber for off the beaten path jaunts, and a wide and slighty flared handlebar positioned high for a heads-up take it all in comfortably and in control ride. The frame and fork feature a full compliment of braze-ons for fitting racks, mudguards and up to three water bottle mounts on the main triangle. Gear cable and brake hose routing is neat and securely attached on the underside of the downtube. The top tube slopes downwards from a tall headtube, giving both generous standover and plenty of room for a frame bag.

Specialized AWOL
Slim seatstays with plenty of room for fat rubber and debris. Mounting points for carrying a load and bottles are abundant.
