….having watched the XCO from Brazil over the weekend, I’m left wondering who the new 32SC is aimed at, didn’t spot a single rider with one across the elite women’s & men’s races, they’re all on 34’s, increasing number of top end XC bikes are coming with the 34 as standard also.

Down-country innit. I mean XC. Ah, whatever.

so, XC racing has got a bit more gnarr, which last year was called down country. So now xc race bikes wear down country, sorry – I mean light-trail – forks, and the 32mm stanchion forks are just for absolute mincers I suppose.

im an absolute mincer myself, trundling along, and can’t quite get over the fact I’m now riding a SID fork with 35mm stanchions. I used to think my fox 32’s were pretty gnarr 20 years ago.

Fox 32 is for Marathon racing.

Still a thing, still popular, still world level racing. Where weight is the ultimate.

Fox have sent gold (bronze?) versions of all their forks to athletes… 32sc, 34, 36, 38.

The new shiny black lowers versions for mere mortals come with nice gold decals to go with the theme as well. Well, I say mere mortals… you’ll need deeper pockets than me.

I’m thinking of putting some fox 32s on my Cascade. But that will be for mincy gravel type stuff and they won’t be gold!

Fox 32 is for Marathon racing.

At normal people level or elite / pro level? Pro / Elite Cape Epic bikes nearly all had 34’s (when using Fox)

im definitely gravel bike curious and may have a go later this summer, but I’m also just immature enough to say:

my cannondale xc bike with fox 32’s from circa 2000 sounds like it would be perfect for your gravel rides.

    🙂
