I’m keen on getting a XC bike for some racing next season.
A 2014 giant anthem advanced 1 has popped up for a nice price but want to know if I would be taking a back step not getting a 29er for speed. I have 27.5 on my orange and love it just not 100% for xc.

Yes lots of people race XC on 27.5

Also pretty sure this years sport category at the national champs was won on 26in!

I race xc on a 27.5 and am 100% sure my (pretty bad) results would not be improved by a 29er

The only time I wished I was on a 29er was at Wasing for the national as it was so bumpy the additional roll-over would have been nice for comfort but as your looking at FS not an issue
