So, thinking about Dunoon tomorrow. If I want to drive down to Gourock, park the car and get the ferry across(because cheaper)

Which ferry is it and where to park,?

Ferry in the town centre, by the train station, is passenger only. Out of town (Western Ferries) takes cars and foot passengers.

But if you aren’t taking the car it begs the question, why are you going to Dunoon? Lots of lovely places over there but Dunoon ain’t one of them.

Aah, makes sense now. Hope you have a great day. Let us know how you get on.

The Gourock ferry will take you into Dunoon itself whilst the McInroys Point ferry takes you to Hunters Quay outside of Dunoon.

CalMac for former, Western Ferries for latter. The Gourock terminal is next to the train station if that makes things even easier?

Great day, great trails. Fair amount of slop and lethal roots, the bottom of lower Burnside trail was carpeted in them. I didn’t dare touch the brakes for fear of dieing. What a hoot.

The passenger ferry from Gourock,(by the station) parked the car there and got the ferry over to Dunoon for the princely sum of £7.40.
