eBay? Packs of 10 any good?

    Or always from Mojo

    Fox shocks by the way.

    Haahaa!

No reason at all to buy from Fox. They buy the same as everyone else off the shelf and then quadruple the price. £1 or so each from any bearing supplier us the going rate

    🙂

When my lower bushings started to knock I replaced them with heavy duty ones from TFT. They’ve lasted longer than the originals.

Rather than top hats the HD kit uses a steel axle and spacers.

Simon, well, yeah, you CAN get the TFT ones, they are certainly better, but why pay £15+ for something that only lasts “last up to 60% longer that standard” when standard is this cheap?

IME the trad DU bush wears out the top hats eventually. Once you’ve converted to SS / polymer the polymer is the only part that needs replaced. They’ll last longer / can be sourced cheaper than the DU thing iirc.
The TF kits look quite good value actually.

The generic part number for DU bushes for Fox shocks is 08DU08 – if anyone wants to go to their local bearing factor for them

    IME it doesn’t 🙂

Repalce at the first sign of play and it’s fine. It’s slack maintainance that kills stuff, not bushes!

My shock was supplied by Tftuned with their mount kit. Are their bushings a different size?

I buy packs of 10 from a bearing supplier, then replace at the first sign of play. My 2002 stumpjumper is still going strong this way. Best thing is to get the proper tool (about £15-20 from BETD), then swapping bushes is a 5 minute job, and if you service the shock at the same time, it’s a 20 minute job. The good thing is that the bush normally needs replacing before the shock needs a service, so combining the service and bush replacement keeps the shock going well (still original shock after 9 years on my stumpy, and no signs of wear yet – over 7000 miles)

Though you get them come in different materials (plastic/metal/metal with plastic coastings)

Again £1 a piece from the local bearing supplier for me.

Ok well done with the shock bushes has anyone found any alternative for the lower leg bushes in a fox fork? Mojo are £25 for 4 which isnt too bad but would be nice to get direct.

I just started making thse tools and I sell DP4 bushes as well.

10x bushes £10 one of the tools £10.

£20 all in plus £2.49 postage, if any one is interested.

Day off so I’m not in the mood to sell shit, but that’s the best way to check your bushes. Also look for the bronze inner lining and if you keep on top of the inner bushes the outers well last much longer.

£1 for an inner bush or £10 to £20 for an outer, you do the math 😯
