I don’t necessarily regret my career in IT, I has served me well, but why did my careers teacher at school never tell me this kind of job was available?

I’m sure it isn’t all sweet trails, blue skies and beautful sunsets, there will be grey skies, rain and harrowing moments I’m sure, but there are certainly more sweet trails then I get behind my computer screen!

@Tracey can tell you more of the reality.

I’ve a son hoping for that gig for the next year or two in NZ.

Whilst studying at  Uni Abigale was fortunate to travel the world racing on the EWS. She always knew that she wanted to go back and spend time in the places she had raced but didn’t have enough time to take anything in. She also didn’t like the route the EWS was going with the UCI

Covid came and she spent time as a Tesco delivery driver and then working in out door events banking money for when she disappeared.

Her first stop off was in NZ working her way down the North Island till arrival in Rotoura. A partime job as a waitress allowed her time to hit the trails everyday.

A job came up at Skyline for a Bike Patrol Officer. She applied and got it.

The above video sums up what she does along with trail building and maintenance. She also works on the other activities. She has now extended her visa for 2 more years

She’s living her dream. Anything to stop you following yours.

My parents did a damn good job of crushing mine. Absolutely forbid me to do what I wanted to do and forced me to do what they wanted. Forbid me from doing a music degree at Uni, forced me to do engineering which I ended up dropping out of. Wanted to go travelling and they refused to support me and threatened me with all sorts. Countless other things.  Horrible people. Took me a long time to stand up to them.

It’s great to see Tracey actually supporting her daughter and her dreams.
