  • What’s the name for the media picking unfortunate photos of people?

I’ve noticed in recent years the media frequently picks unfortunate photos of people to illustrate stories. (Usually politicians.)

It has to be a concious effort to boost sales, but does it have an acknowledged name like Betteridge’s law of headlines which kind of formalizes the whole QTWTAIN technique.

I’ve just realized the inevitable path this thread will take. I swear I wasn’t planning this.

That Corbyn one is a (very poor) photoshop, which would be obvious if only you could stop dribbling onto your Daily Mail for five seconds

It’s very obvious, I’d be ashamed of myself if I doctored an image as badly as that!

That Corbyn one looked legit on my phone but I’ll admit it’s not great on a proper screen.

However Zilogs abilities of predicting my likely choice of newspaper based on a single image needs a bit more honing.

I’ve heard of that, vaguely, in another thread, care to enlighten me?😁

The girl with her head on the desk next to Cameron is the daughter of a well known forumite 😆

All the great stuff he’s done, and upstaged by his daughter. In national media.

I seem to remember it was the daughter of a lurker, rather than a regular. Might be wrong though.
