Righto, new bike demands a tartier chainguide. It has a Superstar one on it, it’s very dowdy and weighs several grams too much. MRP 1X is the main contender, anything else I should be thinking of? No ISCG mounts… Reliable is most important but lightweight and pretty is also important 😉

I use a Pauls Components Chain keeper, very neat n’ tidy although we did have notice in the shop today of the new Hope Chain Device – check out the Hope website, very pretty looking and teeny.

I think the Hope ones are designed for bashrings aren’t they? Should have said, I’ll not be using one.

In that case you need a pauls chain device in your life, very nice bit of it, i bought mine from those nice peeps at aspirevelotech in the states, only took 4 days to arrive here in scotland.

Mmm, haven’t used one but I think I’d choose the MRP over that- wee bit lighter and much neater looking, to my eyes anyway. Definately one to look at though, ta!

Naaaah, bike doesn’t want a bashring, I asked it. Clever things though, but £70 for a chainring, brrrr.

Another vote for the Chainkeeper, it’s one of my fav bike purchases of all time.

It just works, and looks clean (IMO)
