    OP only said they prefer to match brands, I’d mix and black out the logos if you’re that worried about looks. I think Schwalbe do a lot more tyres that will suit the need better as the Dissector is still pretty burly.

    As a thread hijack (apologies) I’m running Rekons (27.5 x 2.8). I want a bit more bite on the front, is a DHF the answer or DHR or dissector or forekaster. Do they even make 2.8s for all these?

    I’m running DHF (29 x 2.5) front – Rekon (27.5 x 2.8) rear.

    The big tread 2.8 tyres are slow rolling monsters in the dry, and not as grippy in the wet, compared to their narrower 29er equivalents (in my opinion).

    Oh, in addition… the 2.8 Rekon comes up smaller (and much lighter) then the other Maxxis 2.8 tyres. A DHF 27.5 x 2.6 might be worth looking at.
