CNC machined balance bike frame?! Outstanding 😉

Serious question: Do you do stuff like this for money? I sometimes need things machining.

It’s getting colder so it’s the traditional soup making time for me. Pea and Ham.

Yeah I don’t have the skills of many of you.

I pretty much taught myself woodturning when I was younger. I recently did a days tuition with a top turner, who was quick to point out all my bad habits… 😳
Turned a carvers mallet out of Lignum Vitae, with an Elm handle.

The lignum is a bugger to work with. Very, very oily and so the slightest bit of sanding renders your abrasive a clogged mess. Turned out nice mind…

Who was the ‘top turner’, kayak23..?

A mallet is on my things-to-turn list and have some incredibly dense black oak (so I’m told, from France) to use.

Cheers! I did a three-day course with this turner[/url] earlier in the year.

I just don’t know how they manage to turn those virtually crumbling to bits vessels…

“Making” might be stretching the definition a bit, but I have just rebuilt this for a friend. 5 new doors, a bit of welding, recovered the seats, new bushes & springs, full service and a complete respray in “Fendt” green. Passed MOT with no advisories and mate reckons it has never driven so well. His 4 young lads are over the moon with their new landie 🙂

Nice Landie 8) Some ‘Fendt’ red on the wheels would be nice to see 😉

    Liking your mallet too kayak.

    Intentional..? Of course. 8)

Most of it made on my wood lathe; the, erm, ‘long’ bit unscrews so you can replace the roll… for a colleague that’s moving to another school.

Finished my first quad/drone. It doesn’t fly properly, won’t even take off straight, I think it’s the crappy radio gear I have. Diatone 150 size with 3″ props.
