I’ve just bought two kali helmets from my lbs. A standard one for road and a mtb one with something similar to “mips” little rubber things that act as shock absorbers apparently.

Not particularly expensive, especially as I got some discount. Looks good, feels good, decent weight and I got to try them on first.
My opinion is they all pass British standards and you hope never to need to use it. If it fits your head and doesn’t make you look stupid then it doesn’t matter what the brand is.
I’ve bought expensive helmets in the past and probably used it longer than I should have done becuase it was so expensive. But you sweat in them and the sun beats down on them and you really should replace them even if they look fine.
