Soul ๐Ÿ˜‰

Is a Wanga really like a BFe? I had one, and it was a thin tubed 853, steepish light xc bike.

Just get a BFe,

#PedanticModeOn# Small e (pronounced beefy), and doesn't have a tapered head tube #PedanticModeOff#

Sorry it's 21.09 where I am, and I'm literally drinking alcohol out a bucket ๐Ÿ˜€

Not sure how many second hand tapered head tube hardtails you'll find. Probably only been producing them for 2-3 years and even then only in fairy small numbers.

The BFe isn't that slack angeled, same geo as the Soul but sturdier construction. My frame is from 2011 and Imrecall the tapered ones weren't available yet.

44mm head tubes will take a tapered fork though, so check those frames out too. No idea who has those in their hard tail line up though!

And how cheap does it need to be?

Evil Sovereign that was mentioned above would be the most fun choice... However it can't take a tapered fork and there is no straight steerer pike...

Damn marketing...

Those Alpines do look good in Orange. Mine is a Mk1, but I would recommend them, as I don't think to much has changed between the various iterations.

Kelvin - for sure, but he wants cheap second hand, which presents a limitation as most will be quite new I suspect and not cheap enough for Steptoe here.

Genesis Alpitude has a 44mm headtube which might fit the cheap parameter, but probably not the right brand (darling!)

be careful, new BFe does, but they are still selling the classic BFe which does not.
