When I’m not logged in on the phone I’m getting the slightly annoying pop-ups ads.

What is weird is the mix of adverts…
Either ladies body shaping underwear or ads aimed specifically at Muslims/Islam.

Can’t be based on my browsing history, defo haven’t been looking up underwear or Muslim charities!

They are programmatic so they are based on many targeting factors, not just your browsing history. They are often based on demographic factors.. like how old they think you are or what they guess are your other interests. It’s not a highly accurate ‘science’ and that’s why we still get ads that are way off target sometimes.

I normally navigate to websites by entering a few letters and using auto complete.

If I type sing into my browser it goes to STW, if I’m in a bit of a hurry and hit enter after sin, it takes me to a Muslim dating site… So perhaps I’ve made AdSense think that mountain bikers, male, middle-age, might be interested in Muslim ladies 😁

I just type ‘s’ and i’m there 🙂
