Morning rip around GT’s hand dug stuff this morning.
Wet but warm and grippy.
Nice.

Show us all what you’ve been riding this weekend?

My weekend started today as I’m on holiday. Lovely, sunny and warm. Bit of countryside (urban-style 😂), coast, city, bit more countryside, and bacon 😁

Had a little roll around the bridleways in the woods locally. Picked up some recently trimmed hawthorn that was destined for the chipper.

Had one of those rides where everything just felt right; berms fast & low, jumps slow & high. Probably crack my skull next ride.

A ride in three photos

Warm and wet..

Lots of trees down, slick trails, sideways is the new straight on 😉

Warm and wet..

Brought some mud home with me. That’s with two massive mudguards as well.

Warm and wet..

Rehydration is important. Managed to slink into the pub looking likes extras from a Swamp Creature B Movie 🙂

Took the commuter out on a gravel ride as my mate wanted to get out on his new genesis. Got lucky with the weather and avoided the rain.

Second rip round this end of vegan valley. Frog spawn, big hill empty battery and dyslexic Garmin.

Am I allowed a second post from a second ride? 35miles/3500’. A mix of showers and sun but mostly a pleasant ride of lanes and fire roads.
Going up

Still going up but the waterfall is livelier.

Had my customary sarnie atop the hill at Carreg Gywir and listened to the skylarks.
Then more up.

25 mile rehydration point, good to see I’m not the only one who recognises the importance of fluids.

Fitted these grips to the singlespeed and now feel compelled to try and hop up, along and off all the street furniture

Well, it was warmer yes and very wet in my local forest. I stumbled across some bizarre political propaganda…

IMG_3739

…with that pic showing the best condition single track of my whole ride. I chose the wrong day to go out on a worn Barzo out back, but yeah handling skills got a refresher.

And, Spring is in the air…

A bit of a chilled one for me this weekend. Had a bit of a weird eye thing at work on Thursday night and a bit of Googling told me it was a Scintillating Scotoma, very strange sensation. No riding on Friday or Saturday and plenty of sleep.
Went to Ballater today, weather was just right, but I felt totally beat up by the end because the trails are so blown out.

Local Mother’s Day ride for me. Trails were firm and dry.

Got a virtual hug from Abigale who did her first ride after arriving in NZ.

53km loop out the door. Started dryish and turned into a mudfest… Lots of nasty grindy noise towards the end.

Rear Conti Race King quite exciting in the gloop, squirrelly…

Abit more XC over the tops today, a ride more suited to the hardtail TBH but that’s slightly broken at the moment. Quite a nice day TBH when the breeze died down!

A solo ride exploring new steep trails on Leith hill, my lord it was muddy! Fun though…

No rides up here, but eldest had a good few days at student DH nationals: 19th out of a field of 125, complete with a dropped chain halfway through his final run losing him 8s on his one timed practice run…and in doing so missing out on top (maybe) 5…

I don’t suppose they fixed the Insta embedding yet, did they?

No? Why would they want to make the site compatible with the dominant social media platform for MTBers anyway?

@rOcKeTdOg what’s the bar?

My weekend ringing was condensed into one quick lap of FoD where I was over dressed for the nonexistent rain and it was a complete slop fest.
