We will be in touch
for me?
trying to get a handle on it.
“A bit more information about this bike. My mate bought it in early October this year. He’s cant get on with it so he needs to move it on. The frame was repainted at the factory before he took delivery & he’s ridden it twice. It’s a custom build & I’m told would cost in the region of £7.5k new. I don’t want to oversell this cos I don’t know enough about these bikes so I would strongly recommend anyone interested to go & see the bike. As the ad says he wants £3.5k but he’s open to offers…

Sounds dodgier than a dodgy thing on national dodgy day, does he have the receipt?
Which SRAM brakes?
Burgtec (correct spelling) don't make a carbon stem
What Fox rear shock?
X0 wasn't available as 12 speed (X01 Eagle)
I'd have thought someone spending £7.5k on a custom bike would know EXACTLY what the spec was. The more I read it, the less I'm convinced by it, the fact its been repainted from original doesn't help either.
Paint was done in the factory apparently as a custom order.
Rest - OP doesn't "know about bikes" so hmmm on that.

Nice garden.
Stolen bike, would report.
No receipt then? It’s on gumtree for £2600. Found that earlier, in Otley supposedly. Note the minion front tyre, not aggressor (weird to only mention the rear....)
didnt feel the need to mention the chain/bash guard either...
99.9999% that’s stolen, or is a fake ad. Run as fast as you can away from it, report if possible
Nothing to do with me and I'm not interested either.
Just flagged up on my radar elsewhere - fairly sure theres at least 2-3 other members here that'll have seen it where its posted.
OP isn't a "fly by night" member there though hence me asking here.
His latest post there:
:Hi, he didn’t pay £7.5k he paid £3.5k & would like to get his money back. I called the place he bought it from today & spoke to the wife of the bloke who owns the place & it was he who built the bike. I asked if they could send me a spec for the bike & she said she would but they were v busy & she might not be able to respond quickly. There’s nothing dodgy about it & there is a valid receipt. My mate is relatively new to biking & he had a lump of cash burning a hole & dived in without much research.
If you’re interested then please pm me & I’ll put you in touch. I’m just trying to do him a favour. I purposely described the components based on what I know & the photos he sent me. I don’t want to mis describe anything as I wouldn’t intentionally mislead anyone & I’ve probably undersold the bike but I’d rather it that way than be accused of misleading folk, just trying to be honest.

Oh - Burgtec do do a stem. More than one actually so the poster above is wrong.
First result on google was Burtec's site showing one for £79.99

Not a carbon one though
So much screaming bad idea about the ad though - like who spends 7.5k on an Alu bike these days!!

Find me a production Burgtec carbon stem available today and I’ll buy it for you.
Let me guess someone else is interested in the bike but if you make me a £100 friends and family PayPal payment I’ll reserve it for you ..
do you want my email address
Let me guess I send money to Nigeria? I’m in 🙂

“Thanks again for your ahem, comments. He bought the bike from Monster MTB in Lancs so call if you’re that interested. He will be calling them today to see if they’ll buy it back. I doubt he’ll get what he paid so anyone here who was ‘genuinely’ interested may have missed a trick by not making him an offer.
For those of you who believe this to be ‘dodgy’ as one of our brethren has intimated, just go have a look & all will be revealed …wish I’d never started this!”
Then let this be a lesson in how not to advertise a bike for sale then...
