sorry about this but someone wants to buy it, and i havent got a clue what its worth.

its a cromo framed dawes discovery 201 megarange, in almost as new condition as its hardly been ridden, but from the mid '90s i reckon, as it has 7 speed shimano sis twist type gearing.

flat bars, rigid cromo fork, vuelta 700c rims schwalbe tyres.....

anyone?

I would think you'de done well to get more than £100. What did it cost new?

I'd have thought more than that, what was it new? Drop bar tourers go for £200 easily, double that with a modern ish groupset.

it was mid range i think, it belonged to my dad whos hardly used it, not sure on original price, although dawes discoveries these days seem to go for about £250 although they are alu framed.

this is cromo and looks nicely made

I'd say about £100 to, Buts its worth what someone is willing to pay none of us want it.

Unfortunetly it is only mid range so the only thing going for it is that it is made by dawes (not sure if the discovery is made china back then)

And 15 years younger. Looks like a £250 bike of its day IMO, you'll be lucky at £100.

Having seen it I'd likie to revise my estimate to something between £50 and £75. You might have trouble getting rod of it at all 🙁

I was expecting full racks and mudguards on a Dawes tourer.

i bought a similarly aged bike for 10 pounds.

Had to replace the cables, tyres, regrease all the hubs, noticed the wheels corroded and replaced them too, then replaced the bars/stem for peace of mind. Finally the BB wore out and it was seized in the frame so i took it to the skip.

running an old frame stops the bike getting nicked though.
