I’ve been riding around for a few years now with tubeless tyre setup and carrying a spare tube…. just in case.

But thought it was about time I carried one of those repair kits instead….  seen a few, Muckoff, Weldtite, Peatys etc.

    Any recommendations, advice please?

Repair kit is a stabby tool and a strip of rubber – even muckoff and peatys cannot **** that up. So they all work, but the fancier ones will enclose the awl somehow so it is small and easy to carry. The fanciest is dynaplug which is a cleverly integrated device that can be very quick to use.

i’ve just picked up a stans DART thing from halfords – reduced down to 13 quid.. the refils are pricier than others, but… looking at it it does appear simpler and ‘thicker’ than tandar anchovie type ones…

I’m looking to 3d pring a mount for it, so it’s always on the frame

Dynaplug are very good, but also expensive.

TBH you should probably still carry a tube, you can’t fix everything with a kit. But it’s worth having both.

The generic repair kits with the little strings work pretty well but I really like Dynaplugs or similiar. The stabby ended repair is way easier to fit- it’s unintuitively difficult to fix a small hole with the strings, but you can pretty much always stab a dynaplug into even a small hole, and it’s a really quick fix that keeps you tubeless for the rest of the ride/weekend/whatever. And they’re so small that there’s no downside to it really.

Got to say I do like the peatys one.

It’s got a slightly offset prong, which means the chances of pulling the strip back out again when you pull the tool are lower. It just works.

    Plus, cool colours.

A vote for the dynaplug here, simple, easy to use even for ham-fisted (me) and works. The only issue I have had is they are obviously popular as sometimes getting the refills can be tricky.

Thanks for the comments… on the Dynaplug it gets a bit confusing with all the different models/versions…. and yes a bit pricey.

I just got myself a Birzman Tubeless Repair Kit. Tool shaped like a co2 canister which I thought was dead handy

They’re all pretty much a variation on a theme.

I’ve got the Muc-off bar end ones on a couple of bikes cos they were reduced to £10 a pop. Nice having it there on the bike.

All the clever ones I’ve seen being used seem very hit and miss (stans, dynaplug)

Cheap sets, like the weldtite, with a stabby thing and an anchovy seem to work really well

The Peaty’s one is great, a bit pricey for what it is but very compact and the fork works better than others I’ve tried.

I’ve got on time with the cheapmweldtite one, I’d suggest getting various thickness worms. (Small, med , large) to suit different sized holes.

I think The dart is only meant to be used on 5mm holes or bigger I think.

I don’t generally get punctures that are small that need a tubeless repair because the sealant deals with them.

Mostly my puncture kit carries big plugs and I find the open-sided nature of the Peatys tool a bit problematic for anything other than the little baby anchovies.

On the search for something else now!
