As above my mate from work has one of the following bikes he bought a mount or 2 ago. Standard tan wall tyres aren’t great in all the slop and have about as much puncture resistance as a paper bag.

I’ve pointed him in the direction of some bargain Specialized tyres to replace them with that are ‘2bliss’ so considering tubelessing his standard wheelset. Online they don’t list it specifically as tubeless ready (they do on the higher model 5 with wider rims) – but when I was changing the tube he’d punctured yesterday the beads of the tyres were well locked into the rim. I had to push hard to break that lock and the other side of the tyre I didn’t touch stayed locked in on it’s own.

Given this is the case can I assume if I just tape the rim / add tubeless valves / sealant and the new tyres that should be ok? No death likely to be involved etc etc…..

I can’t see any problem with just doing it as long as everything is a nice firm fit.
