Got me thinking now!
There was one who lived in an old under ground reservoir near Eston in the north-east that everyone knew about and talked about, can’t remember his name, late 70’s. He was still about living in an old ROC bunker along the hills in the early 90’s.
When I was at Poly in Kingston (’88-’91) there was a guy Frank who lived in a BT ‘elephant hut’ near where I lived on a boat on the Thames. I used to chat with him from time to time and rememebr offering to buy him a packet of fags rather than him smoking the fag ends he used to collect. He didn’t want them as he’d have to go back to the fags ends.
