Apparently Lilt is no more – it’ll be rebranded as Fanta pineapple and grapefruit.

Although Lilt is not disappearing, what other drinks/snacks do you with stayed around? Personally I loved a Spira chocolate bar….

Edit – ah, didn’t see your addition of the ‘what snack…’question. Also kinda done recently 🙂
But, I agree with Spira. You could drink a luke warm coffee through a Spira….

Mrs brain got a box of kp dips for hallmark day today.
I used to love those things.

    Oh, and toffee poppets

Marathon = Snickers, Opal Fruits = Starburst but M&Ms are NOT Treats!

    Man I miss Toffee Treats!

For me, it is Frazzles but the modern ones are just too healthy. Not enough E numbers or salt!

    Potato Puffs

Not sure what they are but for some reason they made me think of tangy toms, they were awesome and far and away the best thing in the swimming pool vending machine

I constantly mourn the disappearance of both Worcester Sauce and Spicy Tomato flavour Wheat Crunchies

What monster was responsible for this decision?

They kept the bacon ones and they’re crap! 🙁

Ohh, and Heinz Kidney Soup – I used to live on it as a child. When it stopped being available (mid 70s?) I had to move on to oxtail – a poor substitute.

Are you sure you didn’t imagine them?

I have this about Greggs cheese and chorizo pasties. I only ever saw them at the Greggs in Lancaster while I was walking round the corner, and I get accused of having dreamt them as nobody else has ever seen or tasted one

    They were amazing

You can still get Tangy Toms, they sell them round the corner from me.

Potato Puffs were odd, they were like… actually, they weren’t really like anything else. They were tiny, hyper-thin potato airbeds. The ‘puff’ bit wasn’t like Wotsits et al, just air. One kid at school used to get them from the tuck shop and smush up the bag before succumbing to bullying demand offering them around, they’d come away with a pinch of strongly-flavoured potato dust.

They sound like they’d be ideal for dropping a pickled egg in and shaking the packet up to give you a flavoured, coated pickled egg

Presently the best crisps for this are salt and vinegar Seabrook

Total aside, but there’s a chance they might have only existed at that one (or a couple locally…)

I know my other half bemoans the loss of a particular bakery chain in Birmingham that got bought out by Greggs (though the name escapes me…) Apparently they had a really good veggie pasty, which the newly Greggs-ed branches locally stocked for a while then discontinued. Might have been the same situation with your Cheese & Chorizo.

I have been craving a Star Bar since the thread yesterday. They were always my sweet of choice, not had one for about ten years, hoping they haven’t somehow ruined them

a best seller in my shop….

    Caramacs

Unfortunately you get too many in a case and most small shops cant sell through the case before the comparatively short sell by….

The only thing I really pine for are Fizzy Jerks, these pop flavoured hard sweets in a roll. For a while you could occasionally find them in low traffic vending machines in leisure centres…but no more.

    Potato Puffs

    Not sure what they are

Reconstituted potato – like pringles, only in a small dollop with an air bubble somehow baked into them.

I have fond childhood memories of both eating potato puffs and the hilarious joke “how do you make a potato puff….. you chase it round the garden”.
