I bet that has to throttle back the power output for heat reasons well before the battery goes flat.

Though I bet the matey doing last long either!

He was asked to do a Batsignal and it set fire to the paper bat template in 2 seconds.

A mate bought one of these types of super bright lamps(not this one exactly) for use on the boat. It took 8h to charge and lasted 20 minutes.

I wonder at what point they’d get classed as an offensive weapon, I can see them being used at protests or riots for disrupting police etc. And how bright does it need to be to cause eye sight damage at close range?

I guess it has the benefit that every ride will be dry and dusty

Coming to your local shared use path soon. Now, that would be handy for vapourising the local scroates on the Fallowfield Loop.

What happens if you cross beams with another one?

I’ve got one of the small Imalent flashlights, and it managed to unlock itself inside its nylon holster and melted a hole through the nylon flap! It’s fairly thick material, too. Fortunately it didn’t melt any of my clothes.

One thing I’ve often thought about for bike lights, and that’s a light with dip and high beam. I’ve only found one, and that’s by Nitecore but it’s well over £200! Surely it’s possible to create a lens which cuts off the top part of the beam, so you could have a twin-beam light with a switch to turn off thr main. My old Puma had projector lenses, one with a line across the lens which I think acted to cut off the top of the beam, so a cheap plastic version to fit a small twin beam LED light should surely be possible.

There is a YouTube channel that tests torches like this. The unknown brand models from Amazon etc usually produce only a tiny fraction of their advertised lumen output. The know brand name ones meet and frequently exceed it – but they do cost a fair bit more

Check out Ravemen lights PR series. The dip is not quite a hard cutoff like a car’s but is a lot less glaring than most.

Trail not going where you want to be?

Fire this up and ride down the scorched clear earth. (Wait for the flames to subside first).

No one would see you – or anything else after having that pointed at them.

I’m amazed at the number of riders who have so little regard for their own safety
