Not in terms of packing a good suitcase but how to ride trails without being a complete lummox, skipping over stuff instead of crashing through, managing momentum effectively(I'm 100kg +) just being a bit more finessed and a bit less charging rhino....

Any things to practise specifically would be welcome as I always feel well out of control but seem to muddle through.

Ride a completely unflattering bike

You'll soon get used to riding with some finesse

Scope the smoothest lines. It's amazing how much quicker you can get when you pick your lines right.

In the finest traditions of STW, showing complete disregard for the content, only reading thread title:

A photon checks into a hotel:

"Shall we take your bags sir?"

"No it's fine, I'm travelling light"

As rocketman suggests above, go rigid or even get a crosser. That'll force you to go light and loose.
