Wa gwan.
My 2010 Toyota Hiace has had a bit of a fuel leak for a while.
Despite me hoping the problem would go away, it doesn’t seem to have done yet.
In fact, it’s getting unpleasant as I can smell the fumes in the cab while driving.
If I park in the rain I get little ecological disaster rainbows coming out from under it.
It’s pretty difficult to trace leaks I know but I wondered if anyone had any tips or a good methodology for ruling stuff out?
I’ve driven it onto ramps this morning so one side is in the air. I’ve gone in with degreaser in my Worx washer and sprayed that about good, let it settle then blasted it out as best I can. It still looks manky to be fair.
I’ve then run the engine for twenty minutes or so and lay under there looking for drips.
I’ve got an endoscope camera so have been looking around with that too.
Can’t really see any obvious leaks around the injectors etc.
I left it with some fresh cardboard underneath for a while but typically no drips came.
I’ve ordered some uv dye kit you’re meant to add to the fuel then use a uv torch to see if there’s evidence of it anywhere.
Besides all that, anyone got any good tips? I can see this being a bit of a git 😐
