    So the tiny screw / bolt thing that holds my shifter on to my shimano SLX M7100 brakes and shifter mount via an I-spec evo something or other mount snapped

    ordered a new mount bracket assuming it’d come with said tiny screw, it didn’t…

    Spoke with the retailer and to be fair, they said it wasn’t advertised with one so it’s a no from them…

    internet searching and several bike shop spares boxes later, I still need this bolt and still not 100% what it is I actually need

    STW, for love of all things great, save me…

    What about the grub screw on a road rim brake pad shoe, that is my default first choice for a wee bolt on bikes

    Great suggestion but pretty sure it’s smaller than that :-s

    Starting to think I’m in a haystack looking for my needle…

    Get a ruler and measure the diameter of the hole to closest mm. It is either a 3,4 5 or 6 mm hole. Then sear h for an m3 m4 m5 or m6 bolt of approximate length. Ebay will see you right for small quantity with free postage

    Surely this is where you go to your LBS. They’ll know what you need and might even have one in the big box of odd screws.
    If not ask them what it is then go to B&Q or wherever and they’ll have something that will work

    @jimmy748 yup! Looks like the one, haven’t once thought of searching for that diagram

    @welshfarmer

    Maybe take one from a kids toy or a string of battery lights lying in the man drawer? Looks similar in size to one that keeps battery compartments closed.

    In that case could you take the part to a local hardware store or DIYsuperstore? They usually have loads of different screws/bolts/etc and I’ve always managed to find something. One of my bikes requires all sort off different spanners, screwdrivers and Allen keys to work on as it has been fixed with all sorts of bits. Not ideal but it works.
    One day I’ll get around to sorting it out*

    * No I won’t.

    @jimmy748 spot on, Thankyou

    oddly, it was SJS I ordered the bracket from, surprised they didn’t say they sold the bolts and screws too when I asked them

    I have a dead SLX 12-spd M7100 shifter *.

    If you want it, drop me a message with your address and I’ll post it to you.

    Take whatever screws you need and then drop some cash in a charity tin.

    * Don’t ask, I also have 6 dead Shimano derailleurs. It’s what happens when your son – who squats 260kg powerlifting and is also deaf – rides bikes.

    His favourite trick is to rotate the cranks on the crankset – rotates them a full 180 degrees while just riding along !!!

    Anyway – plenty of bolts if you want them 🙂

    I have a box of bits from older I-Spec versions and if anything fits you’d be welcome to it but I have absolutely no idea whether anything in said box would work.

    Thanks for the offers, greatly appreciated but have ordered a couple of packs (good to have spares, right?!) of the ones linked above, so SHOULD be all sorted now
