Anyone know what this is?
My new frame has been in customs for 2 weeks. Received a bunch of forms today which suggest it's my responsibility to know!? Not a clue...

A few assumptions made, it has already been painted/laquered and it hasn't come from China (different code) then its either:

8714911031 for carbon,
8714911035 for aluminium or carbon/alu mixed
or 8714911039 for all other materials.

Yep, as importer it is, legally, your responsibility in afraid.

The above codes should do you *but* I'd absolutely expect the exporter to provide you with the relevant details.

Right thanks. I wasn't aware I had to do all this. It's carbon, raw unpainted made in Germany (last cinto)
Is that 8714911031 then?

8714911075 I would think, you're declaring painted with 31 as I read it.

HS codes are a pita but last should know all of this and be able to give you the details - they already should have done the paper work to export it...

I wasn’t aware I had to do all this.

It's a bit of a funny one. It's your responsibility but it's almost never your job, especially as end user.

Thanks
Taking back control....of our admin and costs.

I think this might be the first frame Lasr have exported to UK since brexit...as they had to apply for an export license before posting.

When I bought my frame from LAST they did all the paperwork albeit it was in German.  Tracking said more info required, called up PF who amazingly gave me number of customs dept. Guy there just asked what it was as forms in German I paid the monies due and it was on its way to me.

8714911075 it is. If it's made in Germany there's no duty to pay under the FTA. For code header 8714 that covers frames if there is a change of tarrif heading within the EU or UK (ie carbon prepreg made into a frame) or the non-originating content/ex works value is under 50% of the end product.

That's a much better experience than iv had. Rang PF 3 times now and not got anywhere with them.

So despite filling all the forms in and emailing (and posting) them back nearly 2 weeks ago I have heard absolutely nothing and the tracking is still set to 'Awaiting customs clearance'.

Has anyone had this experience before and can advise what to do next. I have phoned parcelfarce 4 times now and each time they simply read me back the information that I can see myself on the tracking information. Apparently Parcelforce International Hub Coventry (where the parcel is) is not accessible by phone...even by parcelforce themselves! WTAF is wrong these people?

Is there anything else I can do other than driving to Coventry and attempting to gain entry by force as I currently feel like a victim of theft.

As me no, through work yes, lots. Unfortunately customs clearance is very much one of those things that works well when it works well, anything which doesn't quite fit the standard model though completely screws things up and it takes weeks to sort.
