It's ridiculous. It'd been fine until I changed cleats for some blue ones recently. But then I went back to my old shoes and cleats and it's still there but not quite as bad.
Is this a thing? Anyone else have it? What can I do? Silicone spray didn't work, WD40 worked for half an hour.
Do they need a service?
I don't think it's the bearings. There's a little play, but if I shift my foot it stops. Perhaps I'll take a closer look.
I’ve used a little spray of furniture polish for exactly your problem.
Put a drop of dry lube on the spring and locking mechanism
Let me know if you resolve it! I have a creak on my 540 pedals and XC7 shoes when dry, it drives me mad.

It's been a thing since Look started making clipless pedals.
Clean the whole pedal and cleat, thoroughly. Make sure the cleat is tight. Then a bit of dry lube or wax on the cleat engagement faces. BITD i used to rub a candle on the cleat and pedal. Have also used lock lube. (Which i believe is graphite powder).
Also, check the axle collar is tight in the pedal. They can creak sometimes.

Yup, not uncommon, combo of carbon, rubber, steel & aluminum all rubbing together with no lubrication, bosh a bit of wax on there.
My XT pedals with whatever shoes I wear do it in the dry, not in the wet mind 😉
