Before I buy some more Humvee Lites is there anything else I should look at?

Normal Hummvee shorts? Shorter than the Lite version too.

I’ve a really nice light pair of Northwave and a mid-light pair of Pearl Izumi. Both excellent, the Northwave’s get the nod as they a stretchy too.

I have the Galibier trail shorts – they are thin/lightweight (almost billowy)

I forgot to say: I’ve some Sweet Protection lighter shorts. Poor. Despite being light they feel ‘sweaty’ and they’re wearing really badly after not that many rides.

The On One shorts that I got free with a pair of their trail pants are a nice fit and also a nice light summer short, whilst still retaining a bit of toughness

I was out on my MTB in a pair of Endura GV500 today, apparently they’re ‘Gravel’ baggies but they do appear to me MTB compatible. Nice and lightweight and cooler, closer fit with some stretch and also shower proof (because “British summer”).

I bought some Rivelo Torridon shorts from Sportpursuit last year. Wore them in the Pyrenees when it was scorchio and then some. The shorts were the least of my problems, nothing fancy about them but lightweight and a bit of stretch. Good price too.

7 Mesh Slab shorts – picked up in the sale but minimalist, lightweight, not that rustle-y when pedalling
