Sticker removal

Evening all,
What’s the best way to remove stickers from frames and wheels, going to go all minimalist.
Any advice appreciated

In my experience neat muc-off left too long……

Get the surface stuff of by pealing and the sticky residue with surgical spirits. Works for us

Hot water and just peel off.

Used to use a hair drier to remove badges from cars – you will have differing levels of success though depending on how it was applied to a bike..

Cooking oil can be good for some adhesives that solvents won’t cut through.

gt-85 removes the sticky residue

Any oil will break down adhesives.

Best to warm the sticker with a hair dryer and peel off as much as poss.
A bit of oil to removed the adhesive and ad some backing soda if they’re being stubborn.

Used it for years for sticker removal! Cannot be arsed messing around with homemade options.

Peel sticker off, remove any adhesive residue with Autoglym Tar and bug remover.

SLight hijack but is there anything that will remove decals as opposed to stickers

e.g. frame decals on top of the paintwork but not peelable as such

Possibly heat them first, Acetone?

Whatever the decals on a 1st gen Ti456 were, came off with nail varnish remover or meths.

I’m not sure what I’d trust on a painted or varnished frame though.

I spent about two hours last night de-stickering a Corima tri-spoke wheel. I tried acetone but it would not touch them so ended up chipping away at them with a credit card. The decals would not peel (they seemed to be similar to the old airfix type that you had to soak in water).

It was a right pain in the arse but the wheel looks great now.

WD40 is also quite good. Carb or brake cleaner if you’re brave !

Are you sure it’s not a crack?
