Going to Bolton on a business trip on Wednesday and fancy fitting in a run on Wednesday night while I am there. Is there anything near by (15k max due to time constraints) and within a 30 minute drive of Bolton Wanderers stadium as I am staying the the De Veres.

Tanks found a guide and looks good. See its about 17.5 miles in total so don’t think I’ll have time to cover it all, so can you make any suggestions of a good loop to do that is about 10-15k. Not sure if this is something that you can easily tell me?

I ride XC and I am more than compitant on red routes and can tackle some black, but would prefer to attempt anything too difficult when I am on my own. Just incase I end up stacking it and I’m stuck on the side of a strage hill.

From the De’Vere car park, look up and you will see Rivington Pike.

10 minute bike ride will take you to Rivington Barn where there is an array of tracks and trails.

There is a great rocky decent up by the Pigeon Tower. Scan google maps, head for Rivington Barn/Pike and just follow your nose.
