I’ve a SRAM 12-speed quick link here which says “flattop powerlock”. Can this be used on a regular non-flattop/transmission chain. It’s just for a spare in the bag but don’t want to find out on the side of a trail it doesn’t work. My Google skills are not really helping me here.

Any pointers about compatibility between new Transmission stuff and older 12 speed SRAM/Shimano stuff in general would be useful! I’m used to using a mix of SRAM and Shimano (mainly SRAM cassettes and chains, Shimano everything else).

    Thanks!

sram flattop chains are (afaik) not the normal chain spec – the rollers might be smaller? Something like that. if so the pin diameter may also be different. Can you test it on a small offcut of chain at home?
