Just tried to open Spotify on my iPhone, keeps crashing. Checking the web, apparently they’ve had an outage from 11:32 today. First time that’s happened!

Listening now, no issues.

Having the same issue on my iPhone. Listening now on my Mac though.

It was caused by rapper Juice WRLD new release.

Won’t open on my iPhone either – opening screen flashes then closes immediately – could be a national thing as I’m getting the same with a game I play.

It’s a server issue I believe. If you go offline, spotify works

Knowing this, you can temporarily work around it by:
– In iPhone settings, go to Spotify, turn off mobile data access
– On your phone, turn off WiFi and use just 4G for now
– Because you’ve turned off mobile data access for spotify, and are not currently using WiFi on your phone (which would allow Spotify web access, because you’ve only stopped m.data. access), it runs in offline mode. Which is working fine. This also enables the rest of your phone to function normally – sans the temp. use of wifi.

Remember when spotify servers are back, give it mdata access again, and remember to turn your phone wifi back on.

Well yeah, but unfortunately that’s not much good if you haven’t got any downloaded tracks 🙁
Works fine on Google clients, but my desktop seems to be having issues.

Hmm. Working fine for me at the moment on Android over wi-fi.

Listening to a podcast so not sure that operates any differently? Maybe they are just a ‘middle man’ for the podcast services…dunno.

Didn’t do anything except wait.

Appears to have come back now……

Turns out it was Facebook at fault….
