Can I split a 9 speed shimano chain and fit a SRAM powerlink? I've done it in the past with 8 speed, but not done it with 9 speed yet as I've always bought SRAM 9 speed chains.

yes, but you'll need a 9 speed powerlink

Thanks, I have a couple of gold powerlinks spare I just didn't know if it was a good idea to do it.

KMC links are better if you got one of them to join it with

best bet with shimano chains is to split it into loads of little bits, then buy a SRAM one... 🙂
