Its plainly silly now isnt it..

The New Years Honours are nothing but a popularity contest.
The more popular your sport – the bigger the medal/Honour.

Did any Brit 2012 Olympic medal winner not recieve an honour?

Phil Taylor must be fuming that darts isnt as popular these days ..

mooman – I haven’t studied the list in any detail…. ….but which sportsman do you think got a higher accolade for being popular rather than successful? or could popularity be associated with success? or which one got a lower honour despite their achievements…

Phil Taylor was awarded an MBE in 2001 but it was revoked following a criminal conviction.

    Take a look yourself

Take a look at the names at the top and compare to the names at the bottom of list ..

Poly – I am no Phil Taylor fan. Merely used his name to make a point.
But looking at his achievments. 11yrs of success until he was awarded a MBE.
