  • Single Malt Whisky – If I like …..
  • There is no such thing as a bad malt whisky, but some are better than others!!!

I like the Speyside malts, 2 in particular.
    Mortlach – 16 years old
The Singleton – 12 years old.

Both excellent. I’m not a big fan of the Islay malts but do appreciate that many people do. It’s the same as asking wheteher or not you drink whisky neat or with a small amount of water/ ice!!!

Similar tastes to me, I would pick up a couple of smaller bottle of Talisker and Laphroaig to see if you like them. Sainsbury/Tesco tend to stock the smaller ones for £15 ish.

Talisker is a richer Jura 10yr, Laphroaig is like something you use to treat wounds….. but once you get the taste for it, nothing else quite hits the spot.

Oh… Asda Extra Special Islay Whiskey is made on the same Isle as Laphroaig and shares the same base notes, bit milder though, worth a try.
