How long do I need to work through the entire Papa Johns menu?

Any downsides to being stuck in the snow then ?

☺ Only seen it this bad once before up here.

Proper winter walking conditions just popping down to Spar. Big drifts on the main road.

Can anyone lend us a dog?

We’ve been upgraded to a red warning! Started this morning about 7, already got 1-2cm and the heavy stuff not due til lunchtime. Exciting stuff 🙂

    Snow

We have 20cm cumulative in Ilkley, we are about 500ft above sea level so usually get more than the town centre 300ft below. Not much chance of leaving the house!

We’re blocked in. Hard to tell what the snow depth is as there’s so much drifting – hence being blocked in. We’re at 200 metres. A neighbour from across the valley went past walking his dogs said that his lane had filled in level with the walls so he wasn’t going anywhere!

Skipton-Leeds trains aren’t running so even if I managed to get to the station I wouldn’t have been able to use them. 21km riding on the fat bike into the wind to get to the office doesn’t appeal for some reason! I’d be the only one there anyway as the others are either working from home or in a similar position to me.

This is only the second time in the sixteen years we’ve been here that I’ve been unable to get to work due to weather.

Car parked in town, lift acquired, home for a brew.

Then it’s Tim to break out the skis as the driveway piste is a go 🙂

Working trackside at Barnham today, howling gale and freezing, double digit wind chill.

You should get a little snow tomorrow, picton, but it’ll be warmer, so it probably won’t settle.  You might find some slush if you drive in the gutter.

My plan was to leave my Land Rover at the lodge in case the drive would be blocked for a few days. I didn’t realise how severe the drifting was until the wind dropped to reveal….

Unfortunately when I made my bid it was a near whiteout.

It felt a bit draggy but I ploughed blindly until it bellied out.

It took about an hour to dig it back out.

If Stanley Kubrick was looking for a location for the McShining, I know just the place.

Yup it’s the drifting that’s the issue. The A1 keeps blocking due to drifts.

I’ve seen some great shots of the snow falling on the sea then breaking on the beach in Herne Bay..

Clearly some folks are enjoying being outside innit.

Dracs shots look ace, it’s been yonks since I’ve seen anything like that.

It’s slowing down not Karnali it’s the drifts that are the issue you should get but it might take a good while, just the main routes.

We’ve had loads of snow and Its drifting really badly in East Lancs due to pretty high winds. Loads of roads closed including the M66 in both directions. Only one thing for it….. off to the pub it is then 😀

This was the view across the valley about 6 pm yesterday

Image may contain: sky, tree, outdoor and nature

Its snowed pretty much constantly since

    Karnali,

We’ve gone back into an amber alert with upto 25cm expected against tonight and a yellow all day yesterday.

With that I’d really reconsider as they’re closing roads tonight.

Main roads into Cardiff are now all snow covered, no visible tarmac – M4, A48 and A470.  Never seen that before.  And the bad stuff hasn’t hit yet looking at the radar.  I think it’s blowing back over faster than the ploughs can come back around.

Apparently the main artery in Eastern Cardiff (A48 dual carriageway, main access to hospital) is closed due to abandoned vehicles.  It’s even flat.

Can I for one just say, I will never ever be sick of the incessant snow updates!

Fed up of the bloody snow. I drive for a living and it’s makes the job dangerous, plus my boss seems to think it’s businee as usual and we should “go load it anyway and see how you get on”

44 Tonne articulated tankers loaded with dangerous goods and snow do not a good receipt make.

Still chucking it down here in Dundee and the street I live in gets no ploughing or gritting, road and pavement are now indistinguishable due to the depth. I’ll be lucky to get out the street tomorrow and my car is an auto so can’t even show off my STW driving god skills with a manual box.

Humbug to the snow, hope it **** off ASAP. Due to head up past Elgin tomorrow with fuel oil for a distillery but the traffic cameras are showing some pretty crap conditions enroute.. cracking.

I know I’m a grumpy sod and a spoil sport but I hate the stuff. Got some family stuff to deal with aswell and it’s making it worse, plus Mrs1981Miked can’t get out with the wee lass with the snow so they are both fed up of being indoors.

    And breathe. Feel better now.
