I personally have had a brilliant weekend. Yesterday rode from Edale, Hollins Cross, mam tor, rushop edge, Hayfield, Jacobs Ladder. Very Very Ice, The ladder was sheet ice for about 10m in places, which made climbing harder, and descending even more fun.
Then today decided to put the DH hat on and go for a play at Wharncliffe woods. Totally different in terms of grip/terrain, yesterday i had no grip due to ice, today no grip due to ice melting and creating mud. Seemed very busy, lots of DH chaps knocking around.
Anyways, a few shots, all taken from phone so poor quality etc…
Dave – Some brilliant photos there, especially the reserviour ones lol. I’m pressuming that the photos from New Years was this new years, if so I stayed at that B&B from the 1st jan for a couple of days. Brilliant Place isn’t it!
I have been doing all of the Boggy ones recentley for obvious reasons,I havent had any (bad) excursions into the flaura and fauna but Clare has, :roll:ahem…pics to follow apparentley,or maybe not come to think of it!
Great view looking into Borrowdale and Bassenthwaite valleys
Ice was pretty bad but the usually boggy moor was nice and frozen
Bit of a Carry up from Watendlath onto the flatter moor top
