Hope this thread is still running when my van comes back ready for bike duties 🙂

I've still got it at the mo, have been away so much with work I've not had much time to get rid of it. Will shift it at some point. As I'm unemployed after xmas reckon i'll be off down the auction to buy a few vans to sell on then and will probably get a traders policy and use whatevers lying around as my car!

It's an Iveco, not quick but stately, and very good for dirty weekends away.

Nah your alright moses, I've already got one like that but longer 🙂

Will do rob. If you're looking after xmas give me some criteria and I'll find something for you if you like.

i had a well used short wheelbase transit, until today.
gearbox died 146k on the clock, £900 for a new gearbox….worth more than the van…
so we got a longwheelbase sprinter from the auctions with 50k on the clock.
mint condition and only use for carrying foam rolls in the back.
will make a nice mobile home for biking weekends.

steve – will you be able to "help" with the mondeo?

Essentially i have 3-4k for the right van
    must be diesel
    new as poss
    service history
    no gremlins
    moon on a stick
    hiace/transporter size
    crew cab would be cool
no bulk head as it will need a rear seat for the bambino
    insulated/boarded an advantage

    steveh
    Full Member

Yeah probably be able to sort something out for you with the car. Bulk heads aren't a problem as everyone I can think of is removable. You're very unlikely to get an insulated one but also unlikely to get one unlined/boarded.

How desperate are you to change the car to a van? What's wrong with this mondeo?

Nowt wrong with the mondeo – just i am "allowed" a van now 🙂

    After xmas would be cool

    can you email me £?

I started an Iveco Daily forum last week as there doesn't seem to be any one place to help fix/fault find. The closest to a forum I've found is a thread on a job search forum with 291 posts with various problems and fixes!

Feel free to post your van in the For Sale section…its a bit quiet but new members every day so far.

    Had better include the link…

    Hi,

This is my van, only had it 2 months. 1999 T4 1.9td. Currently a standard van but I have almost finished deciding on the interior spec and will start work on that over Christmas. Use it everyday, regular 38mpg and comfy with Saab front seats.

    Regards,
    Matt.

    Rob Rob Rob…

A 'dub is the way forward mate, you know it makes sense. Good lookin' bit of kit, bombproof engine (so long as its serviced) … SOTS' old van carted him +2 + 7 bikes + kit to les pretend in the alps every year.

Keep an eye on the VZI forums – maybe stick a post up?

citroen dispatch – anyone got one?

I have a Fiat Scudo, pretty much the same van. I have the one with the seats in the back. Really good fuel economy, averaged about 40mpg fully loaded with bikes and camping gear while driving around Europe this summer.

What is the payload size in a dispatch/scudo/expert?

Wondering if i could create a space in the back based around an Amdro conversion kit (or similar) – what other options are there??

Sorry, Dispatches are w**k. We've got some at work. Good size, but thta's about it. Price says it all. Luckily they gave me a Caddy TDi. Infinitely better. Just a tad short. I'd go for LWB if I had the choice, But I don't so can't. Managed to fit 2 bikes in next to the Van Vault. They're just a bit pricey though.

Can't do pics as it's sign written.

Hairy, if yours is a V8 with LPG conversion you have my dream car…

Pics of mine to follow once I've got roind to building the bed and bike rack. It's bit different, but built on a budget (when fully loaded the bikes inside will be about 4 times the price of the truck)

Quite amazed the thread is still running truth be told!!

Those 101's remind of the mad machines at UK BikePark not sure what was more fun travelling in their vehicles or the trails.
