    Hi

    Hi All

    I’m running Shimano XT 12SP (8100) which i’m really impressed with, but…

Recently I’ve found the rear mech remains stuck forward (i.e the chain is tensionless)
at the beginning of rides. If you move it about bit it’s ok for the rest of the ride
but the effect is becoming increasingly frequent.
I’m guessing it has something to do with the clutch mechanism so will look at that next.

Any ideas or experience on this….

    Thanks in advance…

    Matt

i have found on my slx this happens..

    seems to be water ingress.

    I found:
Take the clutch apart – i bent the friction spring a little to make it less grippy on the outside of the one-way bearing

Also clean the shaft that the one-way bearing grips and also make sure the needles in the bearing are clean and free to move – light oil for the needles
