    make sure you have a 5mm headset spacer above the stem too so that the stem clamps properly on the seerer.

    And not to breath too heavily on the head dr bolt or it’ll snap

    Check the diameter as well. My flash KCNC bung wouldn’t fit in my on-one mono carbons but a £3 FSA one from CRC did.

    +1 Hed Dr was too fat for my carbon steerers. Had to use a dedicated roadie one (FSA I think)

    +1 for checking internal diameter. A large portion of my Sunday was spent swearing at one.

    Hed doctor every time. SFN can create an internal groove which can act as a crack propagation site.

    Would the manufacturers of the carbon fork not tell you if you can’t use the normal method ( an SFN) ?

    most of them do – infact ive yet to see one that didnt …..

    sad fact is most folk dont bother reading instructions and think they know best.
