I’ve seen Setmurthy Woods mentioned on here and seen a couple of vids of rides there and was wondering if it was worth a visit for a quick ride while I’m over in the lakes.

Has anyone on here got any knowledge of the trails, best place to park, standard of riding ability required etc.

    Any info much appreciated.

Central, the trails are ok, waymarked etc. It is not a trail centre but has a half dozen DH routes worth playing on.
You can park at the entrance to the woods too. For a full day out I would spend the morning exploring Setmurthy and then go on to Whinlatter. 🙂

Cheers. I’ll try and call in there for a few hours.

I wouldn’t drive through the lakes to get there.
But it’s possible to do a decent day xc ride including setmurthy & whinlatter/wythop/sale fell…
I used to like the climb up from Isel bridge
& would always bump into my uncle John near the top. Ha.
