I’m thinking of selling my 2017 Levo, the battery and motor don’t have miles on them both having been replaced recently (mileage wise). Problem is that I have absolutely no idea what sort of value second hand ebikes (especially of this age) are worth. So what would a good condition 2017 Levo be worth now? (I can work out some sort of value based on condition of mine from that) This is not a stealth ad, I’m not even sure I do want to sell it yet!

    Check ebay selling history.

Also, do a search on EMTB Forum’s for sale section. A few 2017 Levos in there. Prob a good place to advertise it.

Start at 3 grand and haggle.

E-bike market is buoyant to say the least. Most will struggle to find a new one in stock so secondhand sells well.
I just bought an ex demo levo comp (2019 30 cycles on battery) for 3.6k

Thanks all, looks like it might actually be worth something then!

I wouldn’t dare buy a used ebike. Not without the cost of a new motor knocked off the price anyway.

Seeing lots of stories of motor replacement in warranty. With no guarantee you’ve got to factor in that as a likely cost.

They cost so much new, but because of that risk, potentially worth very little used.

    Not reliable enough.

    kayak23 + 1!

Used prices generally seem to high given the cost most people (ie those not servicing at home) will have servicing shocks, replacing bearings etc.. but factoring in a failed motor as well?

OP if they are going for good prices i’d sell as ASAP as possible

Mate of mine just sold his 1 year old Orbea wild for just south of 5 grand.

Specialised warranties transfer with the bike don’t they ?

I bought from Alpine anyway so warrantied.
Not sure I’d be too worried about failure. I don’t know anyone with a failed motor yet.

Yes, as long as you have the original receipt. However, a 2017 Levo is going to be a long way outside the 2 year motor warranty.

And I don’t know a single Levo or Kenevo owner who hasn’t had at least 1 motor under warranty.

Perhaps that’s how I should have written it .

Ah, that’s better. I was going to suggest that if your friends are lucky enough to own Levos on the original motor they should buy some lottery tickets… :D

I was just browsing in our local ebike store (Rutland cycles) whilst the cats were having their annual checkup – loads of brand new Levos on display, no shortage of models / sizes in the shop.

I’d suggest to any sh buyer to do a motor rebuild check and espares availability/compatibility – a lot of the motors now have fixed prices type rebuild deals available so at least you can budget, pretty much everything else is std bike type issues.

*top tip – some motors seem to much more rebuildable than others.
