    Only in the dressage category.

My cheese and pickle and corned beef and onion will tear its head off in the cage fighting event.

What rules are you using for ‘best sandwich, 2013’?

I think I might win, actually. Mine had a cold sausage in it.

although from the online and print backlash she’s lost too.

I’m disqualified as I had last nights chilli reheated for lunch.

I’m still full/unwell from a late night chicken kebab.

I will attempt to eat my hungover creation of a cheese sandwich. Which has wonky cut cheese that is about an inch thick one end tapering off to 1mm, only one slice is buttered with the middle part having a large clump of butter and the side a meer scraping. It also has the added bonus of the top slice of bread being the opposite way round to the bottom slice so non matching crusts and the sandwich cut is around 70/30

    That sounds nasty.

I had good mature cheddar and ham wrapped in a tortilla and fried in a pan. Simple but sooo delicious.

Peppered beef, mature gouda & roasted garlic chutney on granary bread is doing it for me this lunchtime

Here oop north we usually use Barms, sometimes called TeaCakes depending on where you are.

I’ve been really good on my Eating all Week so, just because its Friday, I’m off work and going out on the MTB in a bit, I’ve just had a Pastie Barm and a Chip Barm.

Now that’s gonna win any fighting contest 😉 😀

Ahh, but did you grow the chickpeas 😉 😀

I’m hoping to bake/cook this on for sunday lunch: sous-vide beef, tomato and rocket trencher with beef juice and balsamic vinegar reduction topped with a scattering of capers. What do I win?

    Cheers,
    Jamie

It won’t get anywhere near many of the above in ‘most middle class sandwich’ but I had Cumberland sausage, egg and bacon in thick white bread, slathered with butter and brown sauce and a sprinkling of black pepper. Basically a breakfast in a butty.

    Pfft.

Cheap white bread from t’shop, frozen chicken (defrosted) flora on one side, light mayo on the other. Bangin.

No frackin aboiut me, I needed to get down the pub at lunch, had to save my skips til I got back.

My lunch sammich was bread and sliced ham! Some Ukranian bread baked at the local supermarket and Aldi ham, presliced. 😀

Only 4 acceptable sandwich fillings- cheese, ham, corned beef, or crisps.

It is *where* you eat it, not what is on it that makes it a winning sandwich.

I am going to have to respectfully disagree. I could be sitting in a bin, but would still recognise a winning sandwich.

A nice view is not going to make these delicious:

Smoked gammon steak – freshly cooked, tomato, spring onion with a fresh pineapple salsa and touch of vinaigrette. All between two slices of home-made granary bread made with a little added spelt flour.
