My dad has bought the above hub and starter  kit with a view to automating/controlling various aspects of a new house he is building. First of all, does anybody in stw have one and would you recommend it? Does it work with various protocols in order to source various accessories? I assume its still limited by wifi range or have they done some clever tech stuff to mitigate this (i was thinking for sensors that might be located far away from the hub).

I guess a lack of response speaks volumes. Any other solutions worth looking at (eg Vera)?
