    Hi all

I have a hope Carbon seatpost on my gravel bike and I’ve noticed that the saddle appears twisted. Ie when I tighten down the clamp, it seems that the two sides are not clamping equally. One side of the saddle appears to be slightly higher than the other at the back. The saddle is a Selle Italia SP-01 so is only connected to each rail with each side able to move independently.

It doesn’t seem to cause me a problem when I’m cycling but it looks quite strange when I am not on the bike. I have tried reseating the clamp and I’m using the oval clamp rails. I’ve also tried greasing the bolt and putting a washer between the aluminium and the bolt.

    Any thoughts or ideas?

Is it an old saddle and, if so, does the it sit right off the bike? i.e. just sat on a table. Over time saddles can sag if your seating / pedalling position isn’t even.

Have you tried the saddle on a different post, or a different saddle on the same post?

Thanks I will send some pics when I get back home

When I release the tension on the bolt it flexes back to normal shape and sits flat

I am tempted to click the rail round by 1 notch on the right and see if whilst it’s twisted not under tension – when it’s tight it evens out

I just wondered if this was a common issue on hope seat posts ?
