I don’t think a Welshman can make such a statement, particularly after a very very lucky win.

Interesting, could you explain/expand? I’m not sure what you mean.

It was a bloody well taken break away try, though, wasn’t it? 🙂

Seriously now wrecker wales out scrumaged them, out mauled them, coped in the lineouts, did ok at the breakdown and made more linebreaks, managed the yellow card and made more try scoring chances to win away from home. Open your other eye

flash, and i will even admit that ashton was crap today also.
wales deserved the win for their effort when a man down, and i think it was a try.

have they not heared of ‘benefit of doubt’ in the rfu? 😉

Well, gracefully I accept we lost. I would the welsh amongst to admit England played well though, without people like anagallis leaving in dreamland. Welsh superior in most phase my ar…

he main one being that they were the second best team on the pitch and won via a breakaway try. That is luck.

and there’s the English graciousness that makes us all love you 😀

A_a, you’re just wrong on all counts. Wales would have been flattered by a draw.

Well done Wales, if nothing else for the smartness of the sin-bin close out and the well taken try. But chapeau to the boys in white. First 5-10 mins looked like Wales were going to steam-roller England. Then England bounced back well.

A-A, well done, but where you watching the same match at times? For large parts Wales played a very sterile bash down the middle approach which England’s young guns coped perfectly with. Even Eddie Butler saw that. England were for a change fun to watch on the occassions they ran the ball. Gr* Warbuton tackle on Manu probably won the Triple Crown for you!

But credit to Wales – looked like losing two matches but sprung them both. The mark of a good side, but no need for hyperbole as they could easily have lost both. This is why its such a good 6N – no dominant side as yet.

No need to dispute the try – couldn’t have given that on the shots they had.

Bloody English subs – Matt the t888 Stevens in particular, and Youngs? Arsene Wenger moment????

A-A, you can have the scrums, fair enough, not sure about the rest…. 😉

Teamhurtmore, I’d agree with all of that, summed up a lot of my opinions.

Wales did play some dull stuff and missed Hooks creativity but all england did was force an arm wrestle. They created very little themselves. Priestland was shite though!!!

Is that the same kind of luck that has given England two wins from charged down kicks?

Pretty much….Although they played better rugby than Italy.

Hook is a decent player and has been crucial in the first two game with his passing game. Wales have lots aof strike runners but little creativity or passing ability.

great game to watch.shame when stevens came on, he gave away two pens.. Ben Youngs needs to play some games away from eng.. Morgan needs to be fitter. Wales closed out the game during the yellow card and i didnt think that Lawes would have the ball ripped. Well done Wales.

The irony of englanders saying wales were lucky when england have with managed to win two games with chargedowns but they are stout yeoman toughing out away wins………

That was a cracking game. Top draw entertainment, and I do feel for the English a bit, but to be fair if I were English I’d be pretty chuffed by the way my side played. Far from embarassing themselves they covered the pitch very well, attacked everything, showed a lot of commitment and individual skill I thought. And it really started coming together later in the game. Once they had the ball Wales had a hard time getting it back.

To be honest the last Wales try was a bit of luck, but I reckon a result of the way Wales are fighting (almost) every single contact not just taking the hit and going to ground.

I have to say I think the ref made the right decision re the last try. You can see the ball on the ground with his hand underneath the side of it but there’s no way of telling if he had control of it and was pulling it down, or it was just resting on his hand.

Given the uncertainty, the ref had to award the scrum (if I remember the rules correctly) and since time was out, no side.

Fair play Wales, you were always going to win that one.

However, England showed some excellent promise, If they carry on that way, they’ll be winning again soon enough.

Still too much talk about a welsh grand slam though. The test was always going to be the best NH team, and France are only just warming up.

English here and very proud of the performance today. Both teams played very well and I really enjoyed the game. The breakaway try was a thing of beauty but I do think that the final “try” should have been given and a draw would have been a fair result. However it wasn’t so congratulations Wales on a good victory and well done England in your continued improvement under Lancaster, he’s got to be in with a shout now.

I was more than happy with the improvements that eng made. Wales had to think about what they were doing more. i think that eng need to be fitter tho..Morgan was splendid until he tired. ashton was off his game tho. Parling had a stormer of a game, 1st start for Eng and sorted the line out. A really good game to watch and could have been won by either team

Ashton really is a long way of last year’s form. He seemed to be only committing to anything 80% instead of really running on to the ball or really relishing any contact. Confidence (over-confidence?) gone?

God, that game didn’t half hurt my throat. Feel robbed having bet at 4/7 odds and having to sit through that.

Well played England, I thought you played better than us to be fair. Looked pretty dangerous for the first time this 6N however no tries. Great game.

    Wales by 1 score.
They’re not as good as the media will have you believe.

Well my prediction was spot on, on both counts. 😀

England were much improved and prevented Wales getting any quick ball. Although the final result was not good for the men in white, they are moving in the right direction.

    Tidy.

I thought the ref had awarded a penalty for offside at an earlier phase, at no point did I hear advantage over? Therefore back to the penalty surely?

Anyway great game England defended very well and read most of the welsh plays. Warburton brilliant at breakdown, didn’t think either side deserved to lose to be honest. There will be some bruised bodies tomorrow.

Oh and the delayed match in Paris the other weekend could play into Wales hands for a Slam.

Worst game I’ve seen Priestland have…Pikey was gash as well.

    Win is a win though.

Wales have learned to win when playing poorly…showed a bit of game management nous.

Surprised Priestland was carded though…he tackled a player who had recieved the ball from a player in the ruck who had already placed the ball, but subsequently passed it.

    ho hum
