I would say it was down as well but also there wasnt a conclusive angle that showed it so I dont think they can award it

I thought it was a try myself

Congratulations Wales. GS looks on 😉 Massively happy with our performance though. Can we just forgive Care for being a **** now please…

That was a try. Why have a Vid ref who’s scared to make a decision. *huffs*.

    At least we played well.

I’m pretty happy with that. By rights Wales should have won at a canter. They didn’t even deserve to win!
Good signs and thanks Wales for a great game!

According to the experts with their rule books and their technology, it wasn’t.
Let’s see if England can lose with grace, shall we?

PMSL at Sam Warbuton as man of the match!!! He was easily in the worst handful on the pitch-didn’t really look match sharp to me

clear try. what’s the point of having a video judge if he’s not prepared to make the right decision. he made the EASY decision rather than the right one.

he didnt say that – he said it was inconclusive 😉

At the moment strettle might have touched it down was his own arm under it?

If the ref had asked ” any reason not to award the try” maybe it would have been given as it was inconclusive but asking “try / no try” then inconclusive means no try.

I thought it was down myself but “think so” is not good enough

If it was down, the score board would have shown it….! It didn’t. Them’s the breaks!

    🙂

Cap’n Hovis was superb. Farrel had a great game as well, as did all of the England side. A great test match, played hard and fair, a great advert for the game! 🙂

Oh c’mon now. Clearly we didn’t let them play their game. Our rush defense gave 3/4 no room at all. Credit where credits due…

Can’t blame him for not giving it, there was no definitive shot of the ball grounded.

Chariots back in the shed then…..

Too close though, Wales need to get some invention for France.

Well played england. I think you have every right to feel hard done by there at the end. And apologies for this but I lacked the confidence to post this before the game

edit and it didn’t work anyway!

were doing so well Flash, I was almost convinced, then you end on the worst cliche ever.
if you’d have said “rugby is the real winner” I would have found you and given you a slap…

there was no definitive shot of the ball grounded

    I saw one.

Let’s see if England can lose with grace, shall we?

I don’t think a Welshman can make such a statement, particularly after a very very lucky win.

Lucky? Why? We scored more points than England. Hence we won.

If England had scored more, they would have won. It wasnt a try, get over it.

And, even if it had been, was the conversion a given? No. Even then, that would only have been a draw.

England were very good indeed today, very impressive. They were second best, though.n

england need to learn to play possesion rugby once they get in front.

wales managed to do it with a man down, so why cant englan with 15 men.
you go in front, tighten up, get the forwards working.
england were 6 up and blew it.

Brakes, look at the score. The final score. It wasn’t a try. Deal with it.

Truth is, we lost it by giving away the pen during the sin bin. The Welsh ability to hold on and even take points during that period was probably the difference between the two sides.

Nope. If the Try was awarded the rules state that the conversion can be taken as the last play of the game. Naturally, we would have drawn if the TMO had some guts/doesnt have welsh ancestry or whatever his excuse is.

P.S. Can someone teach Steve Walsh & 1/2p what a knock-on is please?

For me the main difference was the 10s.

England took the time and space away from Wales and turned over the ball a lot. I like a ref who allows a fair contest for the ball but penalises holding on, off the feet and sealing off

    CaptainFlashheart

Kryton, it could have been taken, of course. But was it a guaranteed two points? No.

Tom B… **** me thats funny!!
Wales toughed it out and were superior to england in most phases… People still think corbisero and cole are scrumaging gods?
Fair play Farrel was impressive. Wales missed the passing of Hook. Ben Morgan did his usual started well and faded (the fat Turk ****).
Still feel Barrit whilst an able stopper is a problem in attack. If england could get go forward and then use Tuilagi they’d be onto something.

I’m not even going to comment on the try. The official made the correct decision if he couldn’t prove otherwise.
Wales were lucky on several counts; the main one being that they were the second best team on the pitch and won via a breakaway try. That is luck.
Regardless, CFH is ultimately correct in that the only thing that matters is the final score.
