I don’t think he had a bad role in him. One of the best, IMO.

I liked The World According to Garp way back when it was first released. His manic stuff was good when it fitted the script, I liked his performance in Good Morning Vietnam, but the movie overall was patronizing racist drivel. His serious stuff was generally awful, predictable, melodramatic nonsense. Dead Poets Society was pretentious nonsense.
